Today we’re doing a quick hands-on of the new Slim Chino pants from Wool and Prince. Unfortunately I won’t be able to do a full review of the pants due to the sizing options. I tried both the 30×32 here and the 32×34. A bit like goldilocks the first was too tight and restrictive and the second too loose and baggy. I wish wool and prince would make a 31×32 because I’m obviously exactly in between the available sizes. Aside from the sizing though they are a high quality pair of chinos that look and feel great. They’re made from a blend of 60% 240gsm Merino wool and 40% nylon. The wool is 18.5 micron and doesn’t feel scratchy at all.
The price is $128 which is quite reasonable especially for a pair of merino wool pants. If I could change anything about the pants though I’d love to see more colour options available. And in between sizes. Also I think adding a little bit of elastane to the blend would make the pants a bit stretchy and improve the comfort overall. If the 30×32 had some stretchy elastane, similar to Outliers 2 way or even 4 way stretch I think they would have been more comfortable even though it was a little too slim for my taste.
Overall a great pair of pants and I’d very much recommend checking them out especially if you’re within the range of available sizes. They would make a great pair of work or casual pants that would be comfortable no matter what the weather.
