This is a quick hand-on review with Wool and Prince’s new merino Boxer Briefs 2.0. I have them here in a Marine Blue and size Small. They’re made from a light, comfortable and breathable 160gsm 75% merino wool, 21% nylon, 4% spandex. This allows them to be comfortable and stretchy enough to wear without stretching or bagging out.
The unique thing about these boxer briefs as opposed to the majority of others on the market. Is that the direction of the fabric on the legs of the material is vertical rather than horizontal. This means that when you put on a pair of pants there will be less of a change they will roll up on your leg like other boxer briefs tend to. Another great detail is that there are 2 rear seams at the back meaning that it wont give you a wedgie.
In terms of sizing I have the size small which fits a waist from 30 to 32. I tend to wear size 31 or 30 in pants so this size was perfect for me. They’re not too tight and not too loose. It has a night leg hugging feel and holds everything in place very comfortably.
These boxers also have a fly for the crotch which is something I don’t particularly like. I prefer the closed front like Uniqlos Airism boxer briefs. But I guess there are some people who like this style. You don’t have to use the opening if you don’t want to.
At a price of USD$42 (AUD$60) it’s certainly on the higher end of the spectrum, especially for a single pair of boxer briefs. But they are of very high quality and a high merino wool content. They will last for a long time and retain their shape and comfort.
Overall a really nice pair of boxer briefs and I can highly recommend them as a very comfortable and versatile pair of boxer briefs that would be perfect for daily wear and travelling.
