Today we’re doing a taste test/review of Aussielent’s Keto premixed ‘ready to drink’. Unlike Aussielent’s original ‘ready to drink’ which is around 500 calories, this keto version is 430 calories per bottle instead. It has only 2g of carb per bottle and 26g of protein. In addition it’s also vegan friendly and gluten free. The flavour is listed as chocolate but it’s quite a mild chocolate flavour which is a good thing in my opinion. The best way I can describe the flavour is like the taste of the milk after you’ve had a bowl of Coco Pops but maybe even less strong than that.
The consistency is very smooth and if I had to compare it to something I would say it’s about the same as soy or almond milk. It has a very nice and overall pleasing mouthfeel. I did try the older keto powder and a beta version of Aussielent’s keto premix before this production version and each one gave me a stomach ache. This way most likely due to the MCT oil which they used which is known for causing some digestion irritability if consumed too quickly or too much at a time. I can safely say that the stomachache issues with previous versions are not present in this new batch.
In terms of how long it lasts, it kept me full for around 3 to 4 hours before I started to feel a bit hungry again. I also was careful to drink it more slowly. Taking small sips and gulps over the course of about 5 to 10 minutes. I think this is true of most soylent mixes as you wouldn’t eat a normal meal as quickly either. So always make sure to pace yourself while drinking it especially when trying it for the first time.
Finally the bottle is quite a nice design and is durable enough that you can rinse it out and reuse it as a water bottle or recycle it. The label is easy to peel off and throw away too. In terms of pricing a single bottle is $6 with an absolutely ridiculous $9.95 flat shipping fee. So it’s best to buy in bulk. They come in boxes of 12 for $49 which lowers the individual bottle cost to $5.70 (including the shipping fees).
